This piece was inspired by the Stitch & Resist project. I wanted to use the pastel colours and the cross stitch sampler medium to juxtapose the seriousness of the messages in the piece. I am trying to suggest that in 2021 the messages should be the norm rather than issues that we still need to fight for. Having had a lot of privilege in my life, I have used this project to educate myself on these issues. It took about a year to design the pattern and finish the project.
